Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. A big relief news has come for the passengers of Amrit Bharat Express passing through Prayagraj and other places. 'Emergency Quota' will also be available in Amrit Bharat and upcoming Vande Bharat sleeper trains.
Till now there was no provision of emergency seats in these trains, but considering the needs and demands of the passengers, the board has issued a new circular in this regard.
It is often seen that due to trains being full, it becomes impossible to get tickets in emergency times like serious illness, sudden calamity in the family or VIP duty. Till now only women, disabled, senior citizen and duty pass quota were available in Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat sleeper.
According to the new order of the Railway Board, now some seats will be reserved in these trains also under 'Emergency Quota', so that relief can be provided to the passengers if needed. Now in Amrit Bharat trains which will have seven or more sleeper class coaches, 24 berths have been earmarked for emergency quota.
At the same time, in Vande Bharat Sleeper, seats have been decided on the basis of coach category and day (working day vs weekend). However, Sleeper Vande Bharat is not running from Prayagraj yet. Railway Board has clarified that this system will be considered applicable from the beginning of advance reservation period or booking.
Zonal Railways have been given the right to review this quota from time to time and make changes in it depending on the demand and availability. CPRO Shashikant Tripathi said that this decision will benefit the most those passengers who have to travel suddenly.
