State Bureau, Patna. Due to not resolving the complaints related to water supply in time, 10 engineers of Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) have come under the ambit of action. One of them is an executive engineer. Four Assistant Engineers and five Junior Engineers (JE). The JE has been suspended, while a decision has been taken to take disciplinary action against the Executive Engineers (EE) and Assistant Engineers (SDO).

Departmental Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal reviewed the execution of water supply related works and complaints through video conferencing. In the settlement of complaints, the situation of some blocks (Benipatti, Goraul, Lalganj, Baheri, Paru) was found to be very unsatisfactory. The JEs posted in those blocks have been suspended.

The work of four SDOs has been unsatisfactory. There are instructions to take disciplinary action against them for negligence, arbitrariness and disobeying departmental orders.

Apart from these, disciplinary action will also be taken against Darbhanga Executive Engineer Pradeep Kumar who was found careless. In the regularly released ranking of engineers related to timeliness and quality of complaint redressal, the ranking of the said engineers was found to be the last.

However, the Secretary has warned of strict action against laxity in the execution of the problems. Field officers are instructed that wherever adequate repair teams are not being deployed, strict action should be taken against the contractor.

Suspended JE: Prakash Chandra of Benipatti, Anil Kumar of Goraul, Supriya Swaraj of Lalganj, Mohd. of Bahedi. Anish Kumar of Mamur, Paru

SDOs who took action: Shiv Kumar of Laheriasarai, Manish Kumar of Pupri, Rakesh Kumar of Lalganj, Mahesh Kumar of Sitamarhi.
