Bihar Government Is Giving 5 Lakh Free Grant: Earn Money From Nursery And Protect Environment, Apply Like This

Digital Desk, Patna If the farmers and youth of the state want to contribute to environmental protection along with self-employment, then this scheme of Bihar government is a golden opportunity for them. The Agriculture Department is giving a subsidy of up to 50 percent for setting up nurseries in the private sector, from which it is possible to earn lakhs.

Agroforestry plan approved for 2025-26

Bihar Government has approved the Agroforestry Scheme in the financial year 2025-26. Under this scheme, small nurseries will be established in the private sector and agro-forestry plants will be produced in already operating nurseries.

Nursery will promote self-employment and greenery

The objective of the scheme is not only to increase income but also to strengthen the green cover. Any person who wants to work in the field of production of tree planting material can apply under this scheme.

These plants will be produced

Under the Agroforestry Scheme, quality production of Gamhar, Semal, Malawar Neem and other useful and multi-purpose plants will be done in nurseries. There is good demand for these plants in the market.

Small nursery will get grant up to Rs 5 lakh

The unit cost of setting up a small nursery in half a hectare area has been fixed at Rs 10 lakh. In this, 50 percent grant i.e. up to a maximum of Rs 5 lakh will be given by the state government.

Already established nurseries will also get benefits

The unit cost for agro-forestry plant production in the already operating nurseries has been kept at Rs 5 lakh. On this, 50 percent or maximum assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh will be provided.

Jio tagged selfie will be mandatory

Under the scheme, before starting the work and after completion of the work, two geo tagged selfies of the work site and site inspection certificate will have to be submitted to the District Horticulture Office of the concerned district.

Selection on first come, first served basis

Beneficiaries will be selected on “first come, first served” basis. It will be mandatory for applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category to submit caste certificate.
