Bihar: Meritorious Students From Class 9 To 12 Will Get A Scholarship Of Rs 12 Thousand Every Year, Know The Process.

Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. There is good news for the bright but financially weak students of the district from class 9th to 12th. With the aim of encouraging them for higher education, they will be given benefits under the National Income-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme. Under this, the application process for the academic session 2025-26 will start from January 26.

The last date for online application has been fixed as 15th February. Interested students can apply through the website of State Council of Educational Research and Training scert.bihar.gov.in. After this, its entrance test will be held on March 8. For which admit cards will be available from March 5. The examination will be held in two shifts. Mental aptitude test will be taken in the first shift and educational aptitude test will be taken in the second shift.

It is mandatory to score 40 percent marks in the exam

There will be questions of 90-90 marks in both the subjects. It will be mandatory for general category students to score minimum 40 percent marks, whereas for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and physically handicapped students, this limit has been set at 32 percent.

Under this scheme, students studying in government or government-aided schools can apply. Selected students will be given a scholarship of Rs 12,000 per year from class 9 to 12. A total of 5,433 students will be selected from Bihar while around one lakh students will be selected from across the country. Sakhi self desk will be built in 285 schools, teenage health camp will be organized in schools every month

New initiatives regarding the health of adolescent girls are being started in all the secondary and higher secondary schools of the state. Under this, special adolescent health camps will be organized in schools on the 8th of every month. The objective of the camps is to provide health related information, primary care and necessary counseling to the girl students.

Under this scheme, “Sakhi Help Desk” will be established in every school, where health materials and first aid kits related to adolescent girls will be available. Teachers are being given four-day training to operate the desk, so that they can handle the problems of girl students with sensitivity.

In this regard, workshops, awareness programs, painting, essay and poster competitions will also be organized at the school level. The camps will be monitored by the headmaster and reporting of the activities will be done. It will be established in 285 schools in the district.
