Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. Bihar Industrial Development: A new chapter is going to be added in the industrial development of Bihar. A major step has been taken towards the expansion of textile cluster in the industrial area located in Bela, Muzaffarpur.
10 new industrial sheds are being constructed here by Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), in which units related to readymade garment manufacturing will be established.
According to BIADA, textile and leather cluster is being developed in a phased manner in Bela Industrial Area. 15 sheds have already been prepared and production has been started in the textile cluster. After the addition of new sheds, its total capacity will increase to 25 sheds.
500 people will get employment in one shed
BIADA Deputy General Manager Neeraj Mishra said that each new shed will have the capacity to provide employment to about 500 people. In this way, after construction of 10 new sheds, direct employment will be provided to about 5,000 people. Many renowned readymade garment companies of the country are in contact to join the Bela Textile Cluster.
Will play an important role in stopping migration
He said that the main objective of the expansion of the textile cluster is to provide employment at the local level to the skilled artisans and workers of Bihar, so that they do not have to migrate to metros like Delhi, Mumbai. This cluster will play an important role in the industrial and economic development of the state.
Leather cluster also booming
Leather cluster is also developing rapidly in Bela industrial area. Presently production work is going on in 24 sheds, where about one thousand Jeevika Didis have got employment. There are plans to further expand the cluster to promote women entrepreneurship.
Keeping in mind the convenience of women workers, a play school and canteen have been arranged in the campus, so that women can work with their children without any worries.
