Jagran correspondent, Basti. After taking money as loan, when it was time to repay, the accused were threatening life and property. Police have registered a case against four people in two such cases in Kotwali area. Amit Kumar, a resident of Ghurhupur of Gaur police station area, gave a complaint to the Ketwali police and said that Devendra Singh Gautam, a resident of Kathapur of Walterganj police station, took six lakh rupees from him as a loan on January 21, 2026.

When asked for the money back, the amount was refused. Threatened to kill. The police have registered a case against the accused under the section of extorting money and threatening life and property.

In another case, Manju of Katya village of Kotwali area has alleged that some people living in Malitola of the city had taken a loan of Rs 30 thousand from her in May 2020.

On April 24, 2025, when she reached his house to ask for money, she was abused and pushed away from there. Death threats were also made.

Police has registered a case against Raju alias Kazim Khan, his wife name unknown and Shahnaz daughter of Sher Mohammad Khan, residents of Mali Tola, Kotwali Basti.
