25 Boxes Of Liquor Recovered From Boat On UP-Bihar Border, Two Smugglers Arrested

25 boxes of liquor recovered from a boat on UP-Bihar border.

Jagran correspondent, Bairia (Ballia). Police of Manjhi police station on the UP-Bihar border recovered 25 cases (total 235 litres) of liquor being taken to Bihar by boat in Saryu river on Thursday night. In this action, boat riders Neeraj Chaudhary and Sanjay Chaudhary were arrested and the boat was also confiscated.

Manjhi police station incharge Binod Kumar said that the arrested accused told during police interrogation that they were going to buy liquor from a shop in Bairiya police station area and sell it at a higher price in Chapra, Bihar.

This action is an indication that now smuggling of liquor by road has almost stopped, due to which smugglers are trying to smuggle it using boats in the dark of night.

Police station incharge Binod Kumar said that due to the promptness of Bihar Police, most of the liquor smugglers are being caught and such smuggling is being brought under control. This action shows the activeness of the police towards stopping smuggling and maintaining law and order in the border area.
