Jagran correspondent, Shahjahanpur. Eight people of a family are facing the risk and worry of rabies due to stray dogs. The buffalo milk from which all these people drank got infected with rabies due to the dog bite. On Saturday, he got anti-rabies injection at Jalalabad Community Health Centre. Doctors advised them to keep monitoring each other's health. If the milk of rabies infected buffalo is not boiled thoroughly then there is a risk of infection.
Farmer Kamlesh Kumar, resident of Rasulapur village of Pachdevra area of Hardoi district adjacent to Jalalabad border, also does buffalo rearing. He told that about a month ago, the buffalo tied near the door of the house was bitten by a stray dog. No one paid attention at that time. Gradually the buffalo went mad. All the members of the family kept drinking buffalo milk and tea was also made from the same milk.
On Saturday, when the buffalo became uncontrollable, a veterinarian was called. They talked about him being mad, then realized that he had been bitten by a dog. The veterinarian said that the buffalo has gone mad due to rabies infection, so people drinking its milk should immediately consult a doctor. Kamlesh told that at the same time Meera, Maya, Sachin, Raju, Ajit, Divyanshi and Kalpana reached the Community Health Center.
There the doctor told that if the milk of the infected buffalo is not boiled properly, then there is a possibility of the infection spreading. To avoid this, everyone must get the remaining dose of anti-rabies injection. After which all the members including Kamlesh got the injection.
If rabies reaches the brain and spinal cord, its treatment is no longer possible. Therefore, everyone should keep in mind that if any dog is attacking without being teased, then it is definitely mad. If someone gets bitten or his saliva falls on a wound, then immune globulin injection should be done without any delay after consulting a doctor.
