Jagran correspondent, Dehradun. Municipal Corporation Dehradun on Friday took major action against encroachment and freed the land from encroachment by demolishing illegal constructions in two different areas. The campaign was carried out since morning in the presence of the corporation team, police force and JCB machines. During this period, four buildings were demolished and encroachments were removed from the land on a large scale.

The latest action was taken in Khasra No. 121 of Mauza Kargi Grant, where about 700 square meters of land was freed by demolishing four buildings constructed illegally on the corporation land. After complaints of this long-running encroachment, the Corporation completed the legal process by issuing a notice and took action today. After this, the second major action was taken in Mauza Dhorankhas, where the retaining wall built illegally on Municipal Corporation land was demolished.

With this action, about two and a half bighas of land was freed from encroachment, which is planned to be used for public welfare works in future. Corporation officials said that the policy of zero tolerance on illegal construction and encroachment will continue in the city. In the coming days also, such campaigns will be run continuously, so that public land can be kept free from illegal encroachments.

After receiving strict instructions from the Municipal Commissioner, the Land Section is taking action in the presence of heavy police force to free the government lands from encroachment. There is also a plan to build a boundary wall on the said lands.
