Encroachment by Ranchi Municipal Corporation from Church Road to Karbala Chowk. (Awakening)
Jagran correspondent, Ranchi. To improve the continuously deteriorating traffic system of the city, Ranchi Municipal Corporation on Wednesday launched a big campaign by adopting a strict stance against encroachment.
Bulldozers ran on encroachments on both sides of the road from Church Road to Karbala Chowk, causing chaos in the entire area.
The enforcement team of the Municipal Corporation, with the help of the District Administration and Traffic Police, conducted a comprehensive removal of encroachment campaign from Daily Market Chowk via Church Road to Karbala Chowk.
There were continuous complaints regarding the daily jams and traffic obstructions in this area, after which the administration decided to take action. Before the campaign, the road was duly measured by the Amin of the Corporation and the Zonal Office.
Illegal encroachments removed (Ranchi Bulldozer Action)
After measurement, the goods kept outside the shops, kiosks, illegal sheds and permanent and temporary constructions were removed. At many places the encroachments were demolished with the help of bulldozers. During the action, some shopkeepers and local people protested.
He alleged that the Municipal Corporation's action was selective and biased and only small shopkeepers were being targeted. However, despite the protests, the administration continued the campaign and the encroachment was removed. Municipal Corporation officials made it clear that keeping the city free from jams and encroachments is their priority.
The corporation has appealed to the common citizens not to voluntarily encroach on roads and footpaths and to cooperate with the administration in making the city smooth, safe and beautiful.
