Jagran correspondent, Rudrapur. A woman who was returning home with her brother-in-law on a bike after seeing the Saras Fair was gang-raped at gunpoint.
The accused were friends of his brother-in-law, who were riding on another bike. At the time of the incident, the accused had beaten the brother-in-law and chased him away.
The woman has filed a complaint with the police demanding action. Police reached the spot and started investigation.
A woman resident of Kichha Road went with her brother-in-law to visit the Saras Fair organized at Gandhi Park on Sunday evening without informing her husband.
After 10 pm, she was returning home by bike with her brother-in-law and his friend. Brother-in-law's friend was driving the bike.
Two other friends living in the same locality were also traveling with him on another bike. Instead of going through Trishul Chowk, he started going through FSL Road on Kichha Bypass.
Seeing this, the woman protested and the brother-in-law assured her that nothing would happen. After moving some distance, the young man stopped the bike in the dark.
After this the youth started beating the woman's brother-in-law, due to which he ran away from there.
After this, the accused gang-raped the woman at gunpoint. Somehow the woman reached home and informed her relatives.
On Monday, the victim woman reached the police station and informed about the incident.
CO City Prashant Kumar said that a complaint has been received and investigation is being done. After this, an FIR will be registered against the accused and they will be arrested.
