Digital Desk, New Delhi. Bulldozer action was taken in the encroachment area near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque in Turkman Gate area of the capital. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) launched a drive to remove encroachments in the encroached area near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque at Turkman Gate, near Ramlila Maidan in Delhi early Wednesday.
About 17 bulldozers were called to remove illegal structures in the area. MCD has taken this action against encroachment following the instructions of Delhi High Court.
According to Delhi Police, a large number of police teams remained deployed at the spot to maintain law and order during the removal of the encroachment. The entire area was divided into nine zones, each of which was under the supervision of an officer of the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police. Adequate police force was deployed at all sensitive points.

According to the police, before the encroachment removal operation, several coordination meetings were held with Aman Committee members and other local people with the aim of maintaining peace and preventing any untoward incident. However, some mischievous elements tried to create disturbance by pelting stones, but the situation was quickly brought under control.

During removal of encroachment, some mischievous elements tried to create disturbance by pelting stones. The situation was immediately brought under control by using mild force, which ensured that normalcy was restored without any tension. Delhi Police is committed to maintaining law and order, while also ensuring that all judicial directions are implemented in a legal, professional and sensitive manner.
