A case was registered against Chairman Advocate Rajuddin, former EO Sudarshan Chandra, former JE Muralidhar and senior clerk Mahesh Sharma in the case of theft of files related to the scam of crematorium construction from the Municipal Council Office. The police have started investigation.
A cremation ground was constructed near Pakka Ghat in Baghpat in the year 2015-16 with an amount of about Rs 98 lakh. In December 2022, a complaint was lodged alleging scam in cremation ground construction. The administration's investigation revealed that there was a scam. The investigation report was sent to the government for action against the chairman and officers involved. The matter remained pending for a long time.
The file was sought from the government about three months ago. When searched, the file was found missing from the office. Even after searching it was not found anywhere. This information was given to the administrative officials. On the orders of higher officials, Executive Officer KK Bhadana has registered a case against the accused in Baghpat Kotwali. Kotwali in-charge Brijesh Kumar confirmed this and said that action will be taken on the basis of investigation.
CO will investigate the dispute between block chief and ZIP member
On the other hand, a meeting of the Area Panchayat Committee was to be held in the Baghpat block on February 4, in which a dispute broke out between the block chief Sunita Valmiki and the district panchayat member Ravindra Bali. Block chief Sunita accused the opposition of abusing, attempting to push and chasing the vehicle while going to the Collectorate.
District Panchayat member Ravindra Bali says that when he went to the block for the meeting, there was a dispute between the block chief and two-three BDCs regarding work. The meeting could not be held due to lack of quorum. False allegations have been made against him as part of a conspiracy by the block chief.
Another person accompanying him has also accused the block chief of filing a false case in the dispute of money transaction. In this regard, both the parties complained to SP Suraj Kumar Rai on Friday. SP says that the investigation has been handed over to Baghpat CO Anshu Jain. Action will be taken on the basis of investigation report
