Jagran correspondent, Maharajganj. A serious case of fraud, snatching of jewelery and assault in the name of exorcism and tantra-mantra has come to light. On the orders of the court, Sinduria police has registered a case against Mujhna elderly resident Dhruvanarayan and Semrahna Raniyahwa Tola, Nichlaul resident Pradumnadhar Dubey under various sections including fraud.
The matter is related to Brijesh, resident of Aranhwa village. According to the plaintiff, some time ago he had met Dhruvanarayan and Pradumnadhar Dubey, who came in the guise of a monk. Both of them claimed to cure his wife of being possessed by ghosts through exorcism and tantra mantra and took Rs 15,000 in cash in the name of puja expenses.
After this, after fixing the date of puja on 15th June 2025, both of them reached his house and performed the puja. After the puja, again Rs 15,000 in cash was taken. It is alleged that during this time, he did Tantra Mantra on his wife's mangalsutra and earrings and took away her jewelery with the promise of returning it later.
The victim alleges that even after a long time, the jewelery was not returned. There was delay in contacting through mobile.
On the evening of July 10, 2025, when both the accused were confronted on Sinduria-Pipra Kalyan Road and demanded the return of jewelery and money, they abused, assaulted and threatened to kill them.
The plaintiff's life could be saved due to the intervention of passersby. Even after informing the Sinduria Police and the Superintendent of Police about the incident, when no action was taken, the victim took refuge in the court.
Police station head Rajkumar Singh said that on the orders of the court, a case has been registered against Dhruvnarayan, resident of Mujhana village, and Pradumnadhar Dubey, resident of Semrahna Nichlaul, in the case of cheating and threatening to kill.
