Digital Desk, New Delhi. A serious case of corporal punishment has come to light in PMShri Swami Atmanand English Medium School in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district of Chhattisgarh.
It is alleged that last month a Class 10 student was asked to do 100 sit-ups as punishment, resulting in his health deteriorating. The student is having difficulty walking and is currently undergoing physiotherapy. He was referred to a private hospital in Raipur.
District Education Officer Yogdas Sahu has sent a notice to the teachers, action will be taken after receiving their reply. The student's family has accused the teachers of harassment and demanded an investigation from the administration.
