Jagran correspondent, Patna. Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL) Board meeting was held on Wednesday, in which important decisions were taken to further improve the traffic system of the city. Under this, 24 new traffic signals will be installed in Patna Smart City area.
For this, a proposal had already been sent by the Traffic SP. After the installation of new signals, it will be easier to control the city's traffic system. All traffic signals will be connected to the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC). At present there are 28 traffic signals in Patna City area. After the installation of new signals, their total number will increase to 52.
More than 33 hundred CCTV cameras installed
Under the Patna Smart City project, to strengthen the surveillance system in the city, more than 3300 CCTV cameras have been installed at about 415 places, which are connected to ICCC. These include 2602 CCTV surveillance cameras, 473 red light violation detection cameras, 150 automatic number plate recognition cameras, 12 speed violation detection cameras and 120 vehicle detection and classification cameras.
Announcement is being made through public address system in 69 places
Apart from this, regular announcements are also being made through public address system at 69 places. Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department cum Chairman of PSCL Vinay Kumar, Special Secretary Rajeev Kumar Srivastava, PSCL Managing Director cum Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena, Divisional Commissioner cum Managing Director of Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Animesh Kumar Parashar, District Magistrate Dr. Thyagarajan SM, Mayor Sita Sahu and other officials were present in the meeting.
Decisions were taken on many important schemes related to urban infrastructure in the meeting. While approving the expansion of the Common Facility Center (CFC) under construction in Mithapur, it was decided to increase its status from G2 to G3.
Under this, an additional floor will be constructed in the building, so that the scope of facilities and utility can be increased. Also, it was decided to outsource the operation and management of this Common Facility Centre.
With a view to increase revenue, Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL) will also go ahead with plans to outsource various assets such as Bharat Mandapam, gym and other facilities. For better lighting in the city, it was decided to install high-mast light at the identified spot between Patna Junction and multi-level parking.
Emphasis on opening modern crematorium soon
Apart from this, emphasis was laid on soon operationalizing the modern crematorium located at Bansghat. The plan for beautification of city parks was also approved. In the meeting, special emphasis was laid on completing the pending projects expeditiously and instructions were given to complete the Mandiri Nala-Road Project soon and dedicate it to the public. Besides, decisions were also taken regarding strengthening the maintenance and operation system of various projects of e-toilet project and smart city.
