Expansion Of Blind-mute-deaf Schools In Bihar: Now Education Till 12th, Minister Madan Sahni Gave Information

State Bureau, Patna. Blind and deaf-mute schools will be opened in all the nine divisions of the state. However, at present, blind and deaf-mute schools are running in Patna, Darbhanga and Bhagalpur divisions, where there is provision for education till class eight.

Now studies will be conducted till class 12th in these schools, for this necessary steps are being taken at the administrative level. Social Welfare Minister Madan Sahni gave this information in the Assembly on Wednesday.

Earlier, the third supplementary budget of the Social Welfare Department for the financial year 2025-26 was discussed in the House amounting to Rs 724 crore 52 lakh 34 thousand. On this, Minister Madan Sahni, while replying on behalf of the government, gave information about the departmental schemes and its achievements.

He said that each blind and deaf school opened in the divisions will have a capacity of 500 children. He also informed that there are 72 thousand 704 patients infected with AIDS in the state who are given an assistance amount of Rs 1500 every month. Whereas, there are 14461 leprosy patients who are given assistance of Rs 1500 every month.

He said that there are 1 lakh 15 thousand 64 Anganwadi centers in the state where supplementary nutrition program is being run for 39 lakh 55 thousand enrolled children.
