Jagran correspondent, Patna. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) 10th and 12th examinations will start from Tuesday. ICSE Board 10th exam is also starting from 17th February. It is mandatory for CBSE students to reach the examination center before 10 am. Entry into the examination center will not be allowed after 10 am. The exam will start at 10.30 am. Class 10th and 12th board exams will be conducted at 54 centers in Patna district.

Both the boards have advised the candidates to reach the center on time on the day of examination so that there is no problem in the examination process. Candidates have been advised to carry the admit card and school ID with them.

Candidates have been advised to carry only necessary items and appear in the examination with confidence. On the first day, Tuesday, Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic examinations will be conducted for CBSE 10th students. Whereas Biotechnology examination will be conducted for class 12th students on the first day.

CBSE 10th exam will end on March 10 and Class 12 exam will end on April 9. At the same time, the ICSE Board will conduct English subject examination for class 10th students on the first day. ICSE 10th exam will end on March 30.

If you miss the first exam, you will not be able to give the second exam.

CBSE will conduct the 10th board examination twice a year from this year. CBSE has issued guidelines saying that it is mandatory for students to appear in the first examination. Students who do not appear in the first examination will not be considered eligible for the second examination.

Explaining the rules, the board has said that if a student does not appear in three or more subjects during the first examination, then he will be put in the category of essential repeat. That means such students will not be able to appear in the second board examination to be held this year. They will get a chance to appear in the main examination only in February next year.

These students can give the second board exam

CBSE 10th class students who have passed the main examination can appear for the exam to improve their marks in three subjects like Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Languages. Those who have got compartment in the first i.e. main examination can also appear in the second examination.

Apart from this, students who have passed through subject replacement can also appear for the exam to increase their marks. The board has said that any relaxation or request in the rules will not be considered. The board says that the rules have been clarified so that students can prepare better.

Calculator banned in exam hall

CBSE has clarified that bringing calculators to the examination centers is completely prohibited. This rule applies to all subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Accountancy. Even scientific calculators cannot be brought into the examination hall. If any student is caught using a calculator during the examination, he/she will be thrown out of the examination centre.

Keeping in mind the mathematics and science examinations, the board has given permission to carry some necessary materials. Students can carry these items in transparent pouches. In which you can carry transparent scale, compass, divider, protractor, pencil, eraser, sharpener and materials for making graphs and diagrams. The board has clearly said that taking things from any other student in the examination hall will be prohibited.
