This is a festival which is celebrated all over the world, but do you know that there are some countries where celebrating Christmas is banned. Let us tell you in which countries Christmas celebration is banned-

Brunei, located on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia, is a country where celebrating Christmas is prohibited. People here strictly follow Sharia law, under which the public celebration of Christmas is strictly controlled. Non-Muslims are allowed to celebrate privately, but any public display is prohibited.

In fact, it is considered to promote any other religion among Muslims. Therefore, displaying Christmas trees, lights, photos of Jesus' birth and even wearing a Santa Claus hat in public places can attract heavy fines.

Somalia is a country where most of the population is Muslim and that is why Christmas has been completely banned by the government. This ban has been imposed due to serious security concerns in view of maintaining Islamic traditions and the presence of extremist groups.

This is the reason why public decorations, prayer meets in churches and even greetings like "Merry Christmas" are completely banned on the occasion of Christmas. This restriction is strictly followed here.

उत्तर कोरिया में भी क्रिसमस मनाने पर रोक लगाई गई है। The Tana Shahi ideology here does not give importance to religious festivals like Christmas. Religious expression is considered a threat to the personality of the Kim dynasty. Therefore, all forms of religious expression are suppressed here. Celebrating Christmas here can result in severe punishment, including imprisonment. Here the national calendar is followed as per the festivals prescribed by the state.

As the birthplace of Islam, Saudi Arabia has historically taken a strong public stance on Christmas celebrations. This is because here it is considered against Islamic principles. Earlier, Christmas celebration here was quite personal, which was limited to one's homes and diplomatic premises, due to which it was kept away from the public eye. However, due to changing times, some changes are now seen in these rules.

Tajikistan's name is also included among the countries that do not celebrate Christmas. Although celebrations are not completely banned here like in other countries, public Christmas celebrations are not widely supported in order to limit foreign cultural and religious influence. The government here promotes Tajik traditions and identity and openly considers Christmas decorations as an unwanted encroachment.
