Jagran correspondent, Chandigarh. Long distance runner Kavleen Kaur has once again brought glory to Chandigarh. She performed brilliantly and won gold and silver medals in the 23rd Asia Masters Athletic Championship held in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Kavleen Kaur, competing in the 45+ age group for India, won the gold medal in the Asia Masters 10 km race, while she won the silver medal in the 5000 meter race. 3,312 participants from 22 countries took part in this competition. Kavleen Kaur is working as Sub Divisional Engineer in Municipal Corporation Chandigarh. His training took place under the guidance of Sports Department coach Shiva Athwal.
Even before this achievement at the international level, Kavleen Kaur has shown her strength in many important competitions. He won the silver medal in the 10 kilometer race in the fourth half marathon of the Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board held in New Delhi on March 16. Also successfully completed the prestigious TCS World 10 km race held in Bengaluru.
Her identity as a dedicated and disciplined runner was further strengthened when she participated in many major national events like Ladakh Marathon (21 & 42 km), Tata Mumbai Marathon (42 km), 3rd place in Daily World Marathon, Chandigarh and 24 Hour Stadium Run (6 hour category).
She has also been actively participating in state and national level masters athletics competitions. Kavleen Kaur started her running journey in the year 2019. Today his dedication, consistency and struggle are inspiring not only the runners of Chandigarh but the entire region.
