The mystery of the disappearance of a 30-year-old woman from Nagdi police station area seems to be solved. The case has turned into murder. The body of the woman has been recovered from Swarnrekha river of Mesra Thapa area.

The body of the woman has been recovered from Swarnarekha river under Mesra Thapa area. The deceased has been identified as Sarita Kumari alias Sarita Horo, who was a resident of Baridih, Balalong of Nagadi police station area and was the daughter of Baliya Pahan.

She went missing a month ago

According to family members, Sarita had left home about a month ago to go to Ranchi on a scooter, but after that she did not return. Even after a lot of searching, when no trace of him was found, his relatives lodged a missing report at Nagdi police station. Since then, the police was continuously investigating the case.

Technical evidence and CCTV footage were scrutinized during the police investigation. In this sequence, suspicion deepened on Sarita's lover Piyush Kachhap, resident of Lalgutwa. The police took him into custody and interrogated him rigorously, in which he could not hide the truth for long. During interrogation, the accused confessed to killing Sarita.

Murder conspiracy hatched under pressure of marriage

The accused told the police that Sarita was pressurizing him for marriage. To get rid of this pressure, he conspired to commit murder.

He first made Sarita drink alcohol, then strangulated her to death. After this, in order to destroy the evidence, the body was wrapped in plastic and thrown into the Swarnarekha river with the help of heavy stones.

Dead body recovered from Swarnarekha river

On the trail of the accused, the police team reached near Swarnarekha bridge located in Birsa village Rudiya of Mesra OP area. The help of cranes and local divers was taken with the help of Mesra police station.

After much effort, the body was taken out from the depths of the river. The body was identified from the tattoo on the hand and the Aadhaar card found with it.

The role of the team formed under the leadership of Inspector Asit Kumar Modi and Nagdi police station in-charge Praveen Kumar in uncovering this entire matter was commendable. The police's active and accurate investigation led to the uncovering of a heinous crime.
