During the discussion on the supplementary budget on the last day of the winter session of the Assembly, Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's Chief Minister Discretionary Fund Scheme. Chief Minister enumerated scams and irregularities
The Chief Minister said that during the previous government, large scale scams took place in the scholarships of Scheduled Caste and Tribe students. Scholarships of many students were stopped or not given on time, due to which students from poor and deprived sections had to suffer serious losses. Referring to the pension schemes, he said that earlier the disabled, destitute women and old people used to get incomplete and irregular pension of only Rs 300 to 750, whereas the present government is sending Rs 12,000 directly into their accounts annually under a transparent system through DBT.
Chief Minister Yogi also termed the system of 'token money' in road construction schemes as a serious irregularity. He said that after approving a road project worth Rs 25 crore, only Rs 1 lakh was released, due to which the work was stalled and the schemes remained limited to papers only. The Chief Minister also described the policies of the previous government in the areas of power generation, health and employment as failures and said that due to negligence before 2017, the state had lagged behind in the race of development.
