On the holy festival of Makar Sankranti, Gorakshpeethadhishwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered the holy pot of faith to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath as per the special tradition of Nathpanth in Gorakhnath temple at 4 o'clock in Brahma Muhurta on Thursday. On this occasion, he prayed to Shivaavatar Mahayogi for the welfare of the people and happy and prosperous life of all the citizens.

After offering Khichdi to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath, Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the citizens, saints and devotees on Makar Sankranti. Talking to media persons on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that since Wednesday, lakhs of devotees across the state have been visiting holy religious places to pay obeisance to their faith.

In Gorakhpur on Wednesday, lakhs of devotees offered the sacred pot of faith to Mahayogi Lord Gorakhnath Ji. Lakhs of devotees also took a holy dip of faith in the Sangam of Prayagraj. The Chief Minister said that this trend is continuing even today on Thursday.

CM Yogi said that today on Thursday in Gorakhpur, lakhs of devotees are standing in queues and offering Khichdi with devotion to express their faith in Lord Gorakhnath Ji. He said that it is my good fortune that I have also got the opportunity to offer the sacred pot of faith to Lord Gorakhnath after the completion of the special puja of Gorakhnath temple at 4 in the morning. He told that lakhs of devotees have come to Gorakhnath temple to offer the sacred offering of faith.

The Chief Minister said that Makar Sankranti is a very important festival in the tradition of festivals and festivals of India. In fact, Sun God is the soul of this world. From today onwards all auspicious programs will start in the tradition of Sanatan Dharma.

CM Yogi said that according to the astrological tradition, the Sun's annular circle is divided into 12 different parts. The transition of Sun God from one zodiac sign to another is called Sankranti and when Sun God transitions from Sagittarius to Capricorn then it is called Makar Sankranti.

Sun God will remain Uttarayan for the next six months from Capricorn i.e. till Gemini. During the time of Uttarayan, days are long and nights are short. How important sunlight is for vitality and how much importance the Rishi tradition of India has given to it, can be estimated through the festival of Eve.

Makar Sankranti is organized in different names and forms in all parts of the country. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the festival of Makar Sankranti is a festival which is organized in different names and forms in East, West, North and South parts of the country. Makar Sankranti is celebrated with great devotion as Bihu or Tilva Sankranti in the East, Lohri in the West, Pongal in South India and Khichdi Sankranti in North India.

CM Yogi welcomed the devotees from all over the country and the world. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, while greeting the devotees from all over the country and the world at different religious places in the state, the Chief Minister expressed good wishes to everyone. He said that on one hand, lakhs of devotees in Gorakhpur are offering the pot of faith to Baba Gorakhnath. So, in Prayagraj, lakhs of devotees, Kalpavasis, revered saints are present on the land of Prayagraj and are not only engaged in their sadhana but are also taking a holy dip of faith in the Sangam in the presence of Lord Benimadhav, Lord Prayagraj and Mother Ganga, Mother Jamuna, Mother Saraswati.
