Jagran correspondent, Ranchi. The temperature of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, is continuously going down. According to Meteorological Center Ranchi, the minimum temperature of Ranchi has reached 2.5 degrees Celsius and the situation will remain like this for the next three days. In such a situation, there is no sign of relief from the cold at present.

On Monday, people got relief for some time due to light sunshine during the day. At the same time, people in McCluskieganj and Kanke are also in the grip of severe cold. New Year is ready to knock and people are ready to welcome the New Year even in the bitter cold. This is the reason why crowds of people are gathering at tourist places in Ranchi and surrounding areas.

Let us tell you that the effect of dense fog is being seen less in Ranchi urban area and in the surrounding areas. Visibility on the road has reduced and early morning and late night traffic is also being affected. Talking about the weather of the last 24 hours, the weather remained dry in the entire state. Light and moderate fog was seen at some places.

Cold wave conditions were witnessed in the adjoining central parts of the state namely Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Gumla, Bokaro and Khunti as well as in the northwestern region i.e. Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra and Latehar.

The highest maximum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius was recorded in Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 2.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Ranchi. At the same time, the maximum temperature of the capital Ranchi was recorded at 22.2 degrees Celsius.

How will the weather be in the next three days?

According to the weather forecast released by the Meteorological Center, Ranchi, the minimum temperature in the state may gradually increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius during the next three days i.e. 30 and 31 December and 1 January. After this, there is no possibility of any major change in the minimum temperature on the next two days i.e. 3 and 4 January.

Cold wave conditions will be seen in the adjoining and central parts of the state and the districts of the northwestern region, a yellow alert has been issued by the department regarding this. There will be dense fog in these districts and the effect of cold wave will be seen.

Let us tell you that cold has made life difficult for the common people in the capital and surrounding districts. Life is being affected and people are having to resort to bonfires to protect themselves from the cold.

As evening falls, silence spreads on the streets. It was said in the forecast of the Meteorological Department that the effect of dense fog is being seen in the morning and late night.

The temperature of the capital will remain like this for the next four days

December 30: Maximum 24 degrees and minimum 9 degrees Celsius.

December 31: Maximum 24 degrees and minimum 10 degrees Celsius.

January 1: Maximum 24 degrees and minimum 11 degrees Celsius.

January 2: Maximum 24 degrees and minimum 11 degrees Celsius.

Severe cold wreaks havoc in Kanke, area wrapped in fog

During the last 24 hours, cold showed its severe nature in Kanke region. On Monday, the maximum temperature of the area was recorded at 20.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature dropped to 5.2 degrees Celsius. Dense fog was present in the entire area since early morning, due to which visibility was significantly reduced and the effect of cold was felt more acutely.

According to the Meteorological Department, there was no rainfall at all (0.0 mm) during this period, but cold winds blowing at a speed of 2.8 km per hour affected life. People coming out on the streets in the morning and evening were seen completely wrapped in warm clothes. In rural areas, people were seen protecting themselves from the cold with the help of bonfires.

Due to the cold, a blanket of fog remained spread over the fields, open fields and connecting roads, due to which farmers as well as pedestrians had to face problems. According to meteorologist Ramesh Kumar, there is a possibility of further decline in the minimum temperature in the coming days.
