Farmers should complete the sowing of backward varieties of wheat before 20th December. After this, there is a huge reduction in yield on sowing. For backward varieties, varieties include HUW 234, WR 544, DBW 39, HI 1563, Rajendra Wheat-1, HD 2967 and HW 2045.
First treat the seeds with Babystin at the rate of 2.5 grams per kilogram of seeds, then treat the seeds with Chlorpyrifos 20 EC at the rate of 8 ml per kilogram of seeds. Before sowing, apply 40 kg nitrogen, 40 kg phosphorus and 20 kg potash per hectare in plowing the field.
First irrigation in wheat crop
In areas where symptoms of zinc deficiency are visible in crops, farmers should apply zinc sulphate at the rate of 25 kg per hectare in the last plowing of the field. For sowing through sprinkler method, use 150 kg seeds per hectare and for sowing in rows through seed drill, use 125 kg seeds.
After the first irrigation in wheat crop, many types of weeds grow within 20 to 25 days of transplantation. Which grow very fast and which affects the growth of wheat.
To control all these types of weeds, mix Sulfosulfuran 33 grams per hectare and Metasulfuran 20 grams per hectare in 500 liters of water and spray it in the standing crops when the sky is clear.
