Jagran correspondent, Firozabad. A gang involved in theft in trains is active at Tundla and Firozabad railway stations. They are crossing the luggage of those traveling in the reserved coach. A case of theft of jewelery and cash worth lakhs from two passengers in Intercity and Unchahar Express has come to light.
GRP is investigating the matter by registering an FIR. The thieves committed the crime on the pretext of sitting under the seat. Police is searching for him on the basis of CCTV footage.

Devendra Pratap Singh, resident of Nagla Karan Singh, resident of Police Station North, was going to Lucknow with his wife Priyanka and family in the reserved coach of Down Intercity Express on 19 December. He boarded the train from platform number two. During this time some men and women also climbed up. Sitting under the seat, he took out two silver anklets, two chains, gold earrings, two gold rings and three thousand rupees from his wife's purse. He came to know about this after reaching Lucknow.

Another similar incident took place in Chandigarh with Sanjay Bhardwaj, resident of Hallo Majar, Police Station Face 2. He told in the complaint at GRP police station that he was traveling in S-4 coach of Unchahar train from Kanpur to Chandigarh on December 4. His mother and wife were also with him. The bags were kept under the seat.
The crime was committed on the pretext of sitting under the seat.
Two suspects boarded the train at Firozabad station and lay down on the floor. After this they went ahead and got down. Meanwhile, the suspicious youth stole Rs 11,000, a gold chain, two gold rings and four silver anklets, toe rings and other jewelery from her two bags. Police Station Head Amit Singh said that FIR has been registered in both the cases. The thieves are being identified and searched through CCTV footage.
