Tension is increasing due to caste mess in Shri Krishna Medical College
Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. Controversy has deepened among the students in Shri Krishna Medical College (SKMC), the largest medical institute of North Bihar, regarding the separate mess running on the basis of caste. College students have written a letter demanding Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to immediately stop this system and implement the common mess system.
The students have made serious allegations in the letter sent to the Chief Minister. He says that separate messes are running in the boys' hostel on the basis of castes. Due to this system, students get divided into groups of their own caste.
It is alleged that irresponsible and anti-social conversations often take place in these groups during meals, which is giving rise to mutual animosity and caste animosity among the students. In the letter, students have expressed concern that this division is not limited to food only, but it is spoiling the campus environment.
Arguments over small matters can sometimes take the form of violent fights or caste riots. Students say that on the one hand, in other medical colleges, students of all castes eat together.
At the same time, such backward system in SKMCH is spoiling the educational environment. The students have demanded a common mess from the Chief Minister. Principal cum Superintendent Dr. Abha Rani Sinha told that there is no such compulsion. You can eat in whatever mess you want. Nevertheless, he will conduct a confidential investigation of the matter from his level through the warden.
