Under the chairmanship of ADM City Vikas Kashyap, a meeting of the District Level Committee of the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department was held in the Mahatma Gandhi Collectorate Auditorium, in which instructions were given to ban adulteration on Holi festival and to take strict action if adulterated food items are found.
In the meeting, keeping in mind the Holi festival, instructions were given to keep special vigil on food items like khoya, cheese, other milk products, namkeen, papad and flour and take action. So that pure and safe food items can be made available to the consumers. ADM City has coordinated with various departments to increase the licensing and registration of food businessmen.
He said that traders whose annual turnover is more than Rs 12 lakh have been asked to change from registration to license. On the request of the members of the Trade Board Modinagar, ADM City gave instructions to organize a food license and registration camp in Modinagar town after the Holi festival.
He said that food safety is a big challenge, which can be prevented only by vigilance at every level of marketing, packaging and sales. Under no circumstances should consumers be forced to eat adulterated food items. Special attention should be paid to this. Apart from Food Department officials, Trade Board officials were present in the meeting.
There will be regular inspection of RC recovery and medicine shops.
For the recovery of RC, food safety officers were instructed to take action in coordination with the Tehsildars of the concerned Tehsils. Besides, the drug inspector was asked to ensure regular inspection of wholesale and retail drug shops and blood banks and effective action.
