Lifestyle Desk, New Delhi. In today's times, don't be surprised if you see a cute toy in the hand of a young person or a small doll hanging on their bag. In fact, now these toys are no longer just a hobby of children, but are a part of a big global change.

Gen-Z generation is known for some new trend every day. There is also a new era of toys in it. Last year, the huge demand for 'Labubu Dolls' proved that plush toys are no longer limited to just cradles, but are also being liked by the youth.

magic of toys in figures

A report by global research firm Sirkana presents shocking figures. About 43% of adults in Britain bought toys for themselves or someone older this year. But when it comes to Gen-G, this figure increases to 76%. Today's youth are collecting not only Labubu dolls but also toys from brands like Jellycat in large numbers and are also proudly showing off their collection on social media.

Toy companies are getting silver

This new choice of youth has changed the fortunes of toy manufacturing companies. Labubu manufacturing company 'Pop Mart' has seen a huge jump of almost 400% in its net profit. At the same time, the earnings of the famous brand Jellycat for 2024 increased by 66% and their profits more than doubled. This clearly shows that the toy market is now touching new heights on the strength of Gen-G.

What is the reason behind this trend?

This interesting change is being called 'Joy Economy'. Today's youth is living in an era where economic pressure, inflation, war and uncertainties about the future are everywhere. In such a stressful environment, toys remind them of the happiness and peace of childhood where there were no responsibilities. It has become a means for them to find mental peace and escape from reality for a while.

Toys have now become not just play objects but emotional support. This trend of Gen-Z shows that no matter how modern the world becomes, simplicity and childhood memories are still the source of greatest happiness.
