Digital Desk, New Delhi. Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has once again strengthened his grip on power and won the presidential election for the seventh time by securing 71.65 percent of the votes. Official election results were announced on Saturday. Museveni, who has been in power for more than four decades, this time defeated the young and popular opposition candidate Bobi Wine.

Musician-turned-politician Bobi Wine, whose real name is Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, received 24.72 percent of the vote. However, Wine has made several serious allegations, terming the election process as unjust.

Bobi Wine says that during the election, internet services were shut down, there was heavy military deployment in many areas and his polling agents were allegedly kidnapped, which affected the fair election. He called it against democratic values.
