Digital Desk, New Delhi. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said technology should be used for the welfare of the society, but people should not become its slaves. While interacting with the young entrepreneurs, he emphasized that using Swadeshi does not mean rejecting technology. This dialogue was organized as part of the centenary year celebrations of RSS.

Bhagwat said technology is inevitable and not bad in itself, but we have to ensure that we do not become dependent on it to such an extent that it starts controlling us. He said that business and industry should not be operated only with the aim of profit. We work not just for our own profit, but for the betterment of the society. Earning a livelihood and social responsibility should go together.

Giving the example of agriculture, the RSS chief said that Indian farmers often consider farming not just as a profession but as their duty. Bhagwat said that this noble idea is rarely seen anywhere else. It reminds us that our work must be society-centric.

He said that modern technology should be adapted to the social and economic conditions of India. There is a need to ensure that technology does not harm society or reduce employment opportunities.
