What did Rajeev Shukla say about IND vs PAK match?

Sports Desk, New Delhi. Rajeev Shukla: Pakistan is ready to play the match with India in the T-20 World Cup on February 15 in Colombo, but its official announcement will be made today. Meanwhile, the reaction of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajiv Shukla has come to light.

He praised the efforts of the ICC and confirmed that the high-voltage match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026 will now be played in Colombo as per the schedule.

What did Rajeev Shukla say about IND vs PAK match?

In fact, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla, while talking to reporters on February 10, termed it a "victory for cricket". He said that the way ICC has found a middle path by negotiating with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), it is praiseworthy.

This is very good news for all of us. The talks held by ICC representatives in Lahore have yielded positive results. Now Pakistan team will take the field in the match to be held in Colombo on 15th February. The ICC has ended this impasse by giving priority to cricket, for which they deserve congratulations.

Congratulations and all kudos to @ICC for resolving the matter. https://t.co/CGFDLn6rs3

This whole matter was after BCCI had ordered KKR to release Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the team for IPL 2026, after which the Bangladesh government decided that their national team will not come to India for the T-20 World Cup.

Bangladesh cricket team had demanded ICC to move its matches out of India citing security reasons. After the ICC rejected this demand and expelled Bangladesh from the tournament, Pakistan threatened to boycott the match against India in a show of solidarity. However, now this matter has been resolved.

Pakistan government gave green signal

On Monday, the Pakistan government gave formal instructions to its team to take the field against India. The decision was taken after PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi informed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about the discussions he had with the ICC and other stakeholders. The Prime Minister of Pakistan also talked to the President of Sri Lanka during this period.

After Pakistan's U-turn in its decision, Rajiv Shukla also expressed confidence that this World Cup will prove to be a big success. He said that the concerns of Bangladesh have also been heard and some relief has been given to their board, with which they are also satisfied now.

Now all eyes are on February 15, when defending champion India will face its arch-rival Pakistan in Colombo.
