Jagran correspondent, Baghpat. The matter of appointment of 22 assistant professors in the city's Digambar Jain Degree College last year has once again come into limelight. Considering the appointments as against the rules, the High Court has summoned the Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Department and the Director of Higher Education Prayagraj and the Secretary of the Management Committee of Digambar Jain Degree College on March 30 to present their views.
The appointments of 22 assistant professors of various subjects in Digambar Jain Degree College in the year 2025 have been in controversy since the beginning. The complainant and the management committee have been blaming each other. Complainant Sunil Kumar Jain had termed the college's management committee as obsolete and alleged that when there is no management committee in the college, how can appointments be made.
Apart from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, complaints regarding this matter were also made to the Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Department and the Director of Higher Education Prayagraj. Meanwhile, the plaintiff side approached the High Court and filed a petition in this case.
The High Court, Prayagraj had ordered the Higher Education Department to look into this matter. Meanwhile, the ban on appointments was lifted by the officials of the Higher Education Department, after which the process of all 22 appointments in the college was completed.
Plaintiff Sunil Kumar Jain said that the High Court issued an order on February 18 in which, considering the appointments of assistant professors made last year in Digambar Jain Degree College as against the rules, the Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Department and the Director of Higher Education Prayagraj and the Secretary of the Management Committee of Digambar Jain Degree College have been summoned on March 30 to present their side. On the other hand, there has been a stir among the assistant professors related to the proceedings of the High Court.
