State Bureau, Jammu. Jaish-e-Mohammed commander Saifullah Baloch and his two associates have been killed in the forests of Chatru in Kishtwar district of Jammu division. His seven-member group has been wiped out. Adil, a member of this group which had carried out several major terrorist attacks in the last eighteen months, was killed in the same area a few days ago.
According to sources, two members of this team were killed in Majalta of Udhampur and one in Bilwar of Kathua district. Army and security forces have got a big success with the killing of three terrorists during Operation Trashi on Sunday.
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has congratulated the soldiers of the Northern Command of the Army for this great achievement. He praised the efficiency of the soldiers, their unwavering determination and effective coordination in challenging situations. The Army Chief said that the display of high alertness, operational excellence and excellent coordination by the soldiers of the Northern Command even in difficult circumstances is commendable.
Terrorists killed in operation Trashi
The Army Chief has described the commitment and dedication of the security forces in the ongoing operations against terrorism as extremely important for the security of the country. The Army has reiterated that counter-terrorism operations will continue with full strength and strategic coordination to ensure lasting peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, along with the army, Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force personnel also took part in Operation Trashi to kill terrorists in Kishtwar.
According to security agencies, the slain terrorist commander Saifullah Baloch was an active commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed. There was a reward of Rs 5 lakh on him. Saifullah and his terrorist group, who were plotting attacks on security forces in the area, had been escaping from the grip of security forces for the last 18 months.
Campaign against terrorists intensifies
The killing of Saifullah along with his associates has come as a big blow to the Jaish-Mohammed network in Jammu region. This has further strengthened the morale of the army and security forces who are fighting a decisive battle against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Army Commander of the Army's Northern Command, Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma was closely monitoring the operation against terrorists in the area. According to sources, the successful anti-terrorist operation on Sunday will push Jaish-e-Mohammed to a lower level of activity.
