The Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued an official statement expressing deep concern over the killing of innocent women and children in these attacks.

Regarding the air strikes on Afghanistan by Pakistan, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "India strongly condemns the air strikes on Afghan territory by Pakistan that took the lives of civilians, including women and children, during the holy month of Ramzan."

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson said, "India strongly condemns the air strikes carried out by Pakistan in Afghan territory. Pakistan has taken this action when the holy month of Ramzan is going on, during this time the killing of civilians including women and children is condemnable."

Randhir Jaiswal further said, "This is another attempt by Pakistan to externalize its internal failures. India reiterates its support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Afghanistan."

Afghanistan warned of action

While Pakistan is calling these attacks 'revenge' for the recent suicide blasts, Afghanistan has warned of strong retaliation, accusing it of targeting civilian targets.

Pakistan said it killed 70 militants in military strikes targeting at least seven militant hideouts inside Afghanistan, describing the action as retaliation for recent insurgent attacks in the country.

Afghanistan's Defense Ministry said on Sunday that "dozens of innocent civilians, including women and children, were martyred and injured" after airstrikes hit a school and residential homes in the eastern provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika.
