Digital Desk, New Delhi. Ahmedabad Customs Department has caught a smuggler from the airport who was carrying gold in his stomach from Abu Dhabi. The smuggler had swallowed more than 135 grams of 24 carat gold. He was caught by the Customs Department on the basis of his suspicious activities.

To retrieve the gold, the Customs Department admitted the suspect to the hospital. Where doctors removed 135 grams of gold from his stomach through bowel movement. Considering the health and safety risk, he was admitted to a government hospital. The passenger was discharged from the hospital after necessary medical procedures were completed.

Actually, a traveler named Shahrukh had swallowed more than 135 grams of gold of 24 carat purity for the purpose of smuggling it from Abu Dhabi. During examination at the hospital, doctors found that the passenger had expelled three yellow colored cylindrical capsules and a round steel colored ball during defecation. The fourth round object was not found to be of precious metal.

During interrogation, Shahrukh had also admitted that he had swallowed the gold and kept it hidden inside his body.

What is the price in the market?

The Customs Department said in its statement that 135.200 grams of 999 carat gold was present in three cylindrical capsules. Its market price is Rs 21,89,564. The fourth round object was not found to be of precious metal. At present, further investigation of the entire matter is going on by the Customs Department and other aspects related to smuggling are also being investigated.
