Kuwait fraud of Rs 80 thousand in the name of providing job, another accused arrested

The case of cheating a young man of Rs 80 thousand in the name of sending him to Kuwait after seeing an advertisement on Facebook was investigated by the team of ASI Jasbir Singh under the leadership of cyber crime station in-charge PSI Shubhranshu. The team arrested the accused Sukhjeet, resident of Mundiya Kalan, district Ludhiana Punjab.

Police spokesperson said that according to the complaint of Sonu, resident of village Bhusala, on December 16, 2024, he had seen an advertisement on Facebook. There was an offer to send it to Kuwait. When he called on the mobile number, on 23 December 2024, the concerned person said that to go to Kuwait, he would have to pay Rs 10 lakh. Out of this, you will have to pay half of the rupee after getting the visa. Half the money will have to be paid for the plane ticket. On December 24, he sent the offer letter of a company on his WhatsApp.

After that he kept getting calls for several days. On December 28, 2024, the accused called him to Sector-44, Chandigarh and got him medically examined. Told him to deposit the money. Falling into the trap, he sent an amount of Rs 80 thousand through mobile on 16 January 2025. Later he came to know of the fraud.

The accused also stopped picking up the phone. A case was registered in this regard in the cyber crime police station. In this case, already accused Gurpreet Singh alias Ashu, resident of Mundiya Khurd, District Ludhiana Punjab, Akash and Rahul, resident of Mundiya Kalan, District Ludhiana Punjab have been arrested. Accused Sukhjeet was also involved in this incident. The accused has been sent to judicial custody as per the order of the court.
