45 thousand devotees performed Jalabhishek in Guptadham

Samvad Sutra, Chenari (Rohtas). On the occasion of Vasant Panchami, a huge crowd of devotees gathered on the last day of the five-day fair organized at the famous Guptadham of the district. About 45 thousand devotees crossed the inaccessible hilly roads and performed Jalabhishek at the holy Shivalinga situated in the cave.

Since morning, groups of devotees kept moving towards Kaimur hills through various routes including Panari Ghat, Ughani Ghat. After taking bath in the Sita Kund located near the devotee shrine, he entered the cave and performed Jalabhishek of Baba Bholenath. During this time, the forest of Kaimur hills echoed with the shouts of Har Har Mahadev.

Serious problem of drinking water in Guptadham

The members of Guptadham Development Committee were making the devotees queue up and giving them darshan. However, despite such a large number of devotees arriving, the severe lack of basic facilities was clearly visible. There was a serious problem of drinking water in Guptadham. More than half of the hand pumps installed by the government are out of order, due to which the devotees were forced to drink water from rivers and streams.

No health department team was deployed in the fair. Devotees suffering from cold, fever and other diseases could not even get first aid, due to which there was resentment among the people.

Electricity and oxygen gas arrangement inside the cave

Guptadham Development Committee Secretary Tejpati Singh Kharwar said that keeping in mind the convenience of the devotees, arrangements for electricity and oxygen gas have been made inside the cave. Besides, a lost and found center was also operated in the Dham premises.

However, devotees say that there is a lack of oxygen inside the cave, which is creating a suffocating situation. There is no proper arrangement for electricity and water in the fair area spread over about three kilometers. Due to the dilapidated condition of the roads leading to the cave, devotees are forced to walk on rough stones, due to which many people got injured.

Mahant Samhutiya Baba of the Dham said that Gupta Dham is being continuously neglected by the government. He alleged that the administration is playing with the faith of the devotees who arrived in large numbers. Devotees have reached the fair from various districts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

There was a long queue of vehicles on Durgavati Reservoir Road. Fair President Gopal Singh Kharwar said that since Guptadham is in the forest century area, no concrete arrangements are made here by the government.
