The Directorate of Education made daily attendance of teachers mandatory.
Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. Acting on complaints of non-marking of attendance by guest teachers working in government schools of the capital, the Directorate of Education has made it mandatory for all schools to mark daily attendance.
The Directorate of Education said that many schools are not recording the attendance of guest teachers regularly, leading to messy records and problems in release of salaries, deployment and monitoring.
The Directorate issued an order and made it clear that it is mandatory to register daily attendance as per the prescribed system, so that the records remain correct, teachers receive salaries on time and accountability is ensured. The Directorate has instructed all district and zonal education directors and schools to implement it immediately.
School principals should ensure regular attendance of guest teachers so that there is no delay in releasing the salary of guest teachers, counting the total working days or any other related work and they suffer any kind of loss.
