In Usra Bhadi village adjacent to the city, on Thursday night, under suspicious circumstances, the dead body of a married woman was found hanging from a fan in a closed room with the help of a dupatta. The marriage took place only 10 months ago. The police is investigating the case
Manita alias Poonam, 28-year-old wife of village resident Sanjeev Kumar, went into the room and closed the door from inside. After not coming out for a long time, mother-in-law went to call Sunita, but there was no response from inside when she called.
When she somehow opened the door, she saw her daughter-in-law hanging and informed her relatives. Brother-in-law Umesh Kumar cut the noose and took him to a private nursing home in the city for treatment. The doctor declared him dead as soon as he saw him.
Informed the police and parents about the incident. The maternal home of deceased Manita alias Poonam was in Sarai Mohiuddinpur village of Sarpatahan police station area. He was married in April last year. On Friday morning the parents also came. The police arrived and took the body into custody after questioning.
Kotwali in-charge Kiran Kumar Singh said that the parents have not filed any complaint against the in-laws. The matter is being investigated. In the initial investigation, it seems to be a case of suicide. Further appropriate action will be taken on the basis of post mortem report.
