She was the last living citizen of India to hold the title of Mahadhirani. His last rites will be performed with state honours. Preparations for this have been started at the administrative level. However, the arrival of Mahadhirani's grandson Prince Kapileshwar Singh is being awaited.
There is a wave of mourning in the entire Mithila region due to the news of Mahadhirani's demise. Many dignitaries including the Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer have arrived and expressed their condolences. Mahadhirani was married in 1940. Maharaja Kameshwar Singh's first wife Kameshwari Priya and second wife Rajalakshmi have already passed away.
Mahadhirani Kamasundari Devi established Maharajadhiraj Kameshwar Singh Kalyani Foundation in the memory of her husband Maharaja Kameshwar Singh and was working to spread the work of Maharaja to the common people. Besides, he has done exemplary work in education, health and social sectors.
