Jagran correspondent, Greater Noida. Yida area will become the hub of semiconductor manufacturing in future. Production will start in two years at the country's first display driver semiconductor OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Testing Unit). Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid its foundation stone on 21 February.
The approval of the Central Government is still awaited for the establishment of these two units. The proposals of both the companies are being considered after the in-principle approval of the state government. YEIDA region has emerged as a preferred destination for investment in India and abroad.
During Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's visit to Singapore and Japan, investors had shown great interest in investing in the Yida region. The state government is working to develop a complete technology ecosystem in the YEIDA region. Production ranging from artificial intelligence hubs to data centers and semiconductor units is being set up.
Two semiconductor units in Yida area
Adtech Semiconductors Pvt Ltd and Kinesis Semicon Pvt Ltd. Ltd. These can also be established soon. YEIDA has issued letter of intent to both the companies for allotment of land for setting up their units. Following YEIDA's in-principle consent to allot land in Sector 10, the state government has also approved their proposal. The proposals of both the companies are currently under consideration with the Central Government.
Aditech will set up a compound semiconductor manufacturing unit and Keynes Semiconductor will set up an OSAT unit in the YEIDA area. These three semiconductor units will bring investment worth thousands of crores and provide employment to thousands of people in the YEIDA area.
YEIDA's ACEO Shailendra Bhatia says that the country is moving towards self-reliance in semiconductors. The foundation of North India's first semiconductor unit has been laid. This will be the country's first display driver semiconductor OSAT outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing unit.
Two more proposals for setting up semiconductor units in the YEIDA area are currently under consideration. With the construction of these two units, the identity of YIDA area as a semiconductor hub will be further strengthened.
