Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. There is good news for the youth. If you are completing 18 years of age in October 2026, then you can also fill Form-6 now to become a voter. For this, you will have to fill the form at the prescribed points of Form-6 and attach the forms. The declaration form will be compulsorily filled along with Form-6.
After filling this form, you can either give it to the BLO or upload it online on the portal. After which all the processes will be completed by the Election Department. But, you will become a voter only in October. The names of these applicants will not be there in the final voter list to be released after Special Intensive Revision of Voters (SIR) as this list will already be published.
The list will include those new voters with Form 6 who have completed 18 years of age. In Form-6, it is necessary for the applicant to mention the name and correct address in correct spelling, latest clear photograph and current mobile number. The facility to fill Form-6 online is available on the Election Commission of India portal voters.eci.gov.in and ECInet app.
Form-6 can also be filled and given to your booth level officer. To become a voter, on whose behalf the application is being made by filling Form-6. In many of those applications, it has been found that the photograph of the applicant is blurry and unclear. In such a situation, care has to be taken while taking photos. The photo should be clear. The complete address of your present residence should be written clearly.
While filling the address, the entries should be filled correctly, so that the Voter Photo Identity Card can be easily received by the applicant at his address. For proof of usual residence, the applicant will have to submit a self-attested copy of any one of the records issued in the name of himself/her parents/spouse as evidence along with the application.

Enter the correct pincode while applying. You must mention your own/father's or husband's mobile number in Form-6. By entering the mobile number, the applicant can track his/her application on the ECINet app or voters.eci.gov.in portal. Also, e-EPIC can also be downloaded from the portal/app.
To become a new voter, keep in mind the prescribed points while filling Form 6. Also, other voters should also re-check the photo in their voter photo identity card and other entries including the address and mobile number given. If there is any error or correction is required, fill Form 8 and provide it to your BLO or you can apply online on ECI Net App or voters.eci.gov.in portal.
