Jagran correspondent, West Delhi. A woman committed suicide by hanging herself in her house on Tuesday morning in Nihal Vihar police station area of outer Delhi. Regarding this incident, the woman's maternal side has accused her in-laws of harassing her for dowry. Due to torture, he committed suicide. The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Sanu Bala. On Wednesday, people from the maternal side of the deceased recorded their statement in the local SDM court regarding the incident.
According to the information, this incident took place at around 11 am on Tuesday morning in the house of the woman's father-in-law, Pratap Baghel, located on 50 Foot Road, Nihal Vihar. Mihala's brother Pankaj told that his sister was married to Surjeet on 23 April 2024. It is alleged that Sanu was regularly harassed for dowry.
There was a demand for Rs 10 lakh
For the last six months, a demand of Rs 10 lakh was being made to buy the property. He was also called through SANU to create pressure if this demand was not met. We had also made up our mind to give the money, meanwhile on Tuesday around 11.30 Pratap Baghel called him and said that his sister was ill. When they reached Balaji Hospital, they came to know that Sanu had hanged himself. He said that at that time everyone had gone out of the house.
The police officer said that the post mortem report is awaited. As soon as it is received, legal action will be taken on the basis of the report and statement.
