Jagran correspondent, Hisar. A tragic accident on Tuesday evening in Srinagar Colony on Mirzapur Road shocked the entire area. 80 year old Santosh Devi, who was sitting peacefully outside her house, was attacked by helpless animals. Santosh Devi, who was injured in this attack, died.
According to eyewitnesses, during a conflict between two cows and a bull, a cow hit Santosh Devi hard. The collision was so severe that the elderly woman fell on the road about five feet away. Before anyone could recover, a bull crushed them under their feet. Hearing the noise, family members and neighbors ran, animals were chased away, but by then Santosh Devi was seriously injured. Died during treatment.
Santosh Devi was admitted to Jindal Hospital in the city in injured condition. One leg was broken and there were serious injuries on the stomach and ribs. Despite all efforts, he died during treatment at around 9.30 pm. The police handed over the body to the family after post-mortem. The son's eyes saw the world destroyed in a moment.
The deceased's son Satbir told that after drinking tea, his mother was sitting on a chair outside the house. They had gone some distance towards the temple when this accident happened. If he had returned a few seconds earlier, he might have saved his mother, Satbir's eyes filled with tears. Saying this, fear spread in the colony, questions on the administration.
Local residents say that the terror of stray animals has been prevalent in Srinagar Colony for a long time. Complaints were given to the Municipal Corporation several times, but no concrete action was taken. Now an elderly woman has lost her life in a series of accidents happening every day.
