Jagran correspondent, Dehradun. Preparations to make the 77th Republic Day celebrations grand, well-organized and dignified at the Parade Ground in the capital Dehradun have reached the final stage. The administration is in full alert mode regarding the national festival.
On Saturday, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah inspected the venue and reviewed various arrangements and instructed the nodal officers that negligence will not be tolerated at any level. During the inspection, the CDO took stock of the preparations related to the stage, audience gallery, entry way, security, meeting arrangements, drinking water and sanitation. He said that all the departments will have to ensure timely discharge of their responsibilities with mutual coordination, so that the function can be completed with full dignity.
The administration has divided the entry and seating arrangements at the ground in a systematic manner. The entry of holders of Ganga and Alaknanda blocks including the main platform will be done from Gate No. 1, while the entry of Bhagirathi Block has been decided from Gate No. 2.
The entry of parade teams and tableaux will be from Gate No. 3. Guests and spectators of Asan, Tons and Yamuna blocks will get entry from Gate No. 4.
During the inspection, Additional District Magistrate KK Mishra, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, SDM Sadar Har Giri, SDM Apoorva Singh, SDM Vinod Kumar, Chief Education Officer VK Dhoundiyal and nodal officers of various departments were present.
Special guest of Chief Minister in Ganga Block
The seating arrangement has also been decided according to the category of guests. Chief Minister's guests, MLAs, status holders and their family members will sit in Ganga Block. Alaknanda block will be reserved for justices, judicial officers, chairpersons of commissions and senior officers.
Army officers and their family members will sit in Bhagirathi block, freedom fighters and state agitators will sit in Yamuna block. The throne block has been earmarked for media representatives while the seat block has been earmarked for other guests. There will be seating arrangements in the audience gallery for common citizens.
Ceremony will start at 10 o'clock
CDO informed that the Republic Day celebrations will begin at 10 am. After the lining up of the parade parties, the Chief Minister will arrive at 10:20 am and the Governor will arrive at 10:28 am. The program will proceed with flag hoisting and national anthem at exactly 10:30 am.
After this, march past, cultural programs of school children and attractive tableaux will be presented. Police medals will be distributed at 11:25 am and the ceremony will conclude with the national anthem.
The Chief Development Officer directed that the arrangements should be rehearsed as per the minute-to-minute schedule, so that there is no shortage of any kind.
