Delhi High Court bans 18 entities from misusing Akasa Air's trademark.
Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. Taking a tough stand against 18 entities, including an aviation institute, the Delhi High Court has issued an interim injunction against them for misusing Akasa Air's trademark and committing job fraud. A bench of Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora passed the order while hearing a suit filed by SNV Aviation Pvt Ltd, which operates Akasa Air.
The court said that this act clearly amounts to impersonation, fraud and passing off. The court said that prima facie a case is made out and if these units are not banned, the company will suffer irreparable loss, which will not be possible to compensate. The High Court has restrained all 18 defendants from using Akasa Air's trademarks and making any misrepresentation in the name of the company until the next hearing, which is scheduled for May 22, 2026.
The company had alleged that Alaska Aviation Academy Private Limited and 17 other defendants were conspiring to defraud people in the name of providing them jobs by improperly using the company's trademarks. According to the petitioner, the respondents, posing as employees or agents of Akasa Air, used to contact people through phone calls and emails and demand fees in the name of recruitment process.
