Jagran correspondent, Meerut. The picture of administrative negligence that has emerged in the city is inviting a major accident. No lesson has been learned from the accident that took place in Noida during the recent fog. The entire system is in deep sleep.

Due to breaking of walls and soil erosion in the city, open drains on roadsides and Rajvahas without railings can someday become the cause of major accidents. This is not a lack of resources but a lack of moral responsibility. Regarding the Noida incident, people have started saying that Meerut also needs protection from these open threats, not promises.

Dainik Jagran's investigation has revealed such open threats. The wall of Abunale has been broken in the line of Das Motors in Cantt area. The soil on the banks is slowly eroding. Due to which the road is also sinking. A large portion of the road has been cut.

From Begumpul intersection, this road links the road to Hanuman Chowk. From this, one also reaches the road containing the Cantt Board office. Therefore vehicles move on it in large numbers. The car has fallen into the drain here twice. Even after this, the Cantt Board did not build the wall of the drain.

The clock tower is where the SP City office is. Right in front, a large part of the drain has been lying open on the roadside for several months. There is a danger of vehicles coming and going getting stuck in it and overturning, but the Municipal Corporation officials sitting in the Corporation office a short distance away are not seeing this danger.

If we talk about Mohkampur Basti turn on Delhi Road, there has been a wide erosion due to continuous cutting of the soil of the drain on the roadside. Fast vehicles pass by. Even a small mistake can cost the driver heavily. But the Municipal Corporation is not losing sleep. There are neither signs nor barricades at these places, inviting accidents.

Vehicles are falling into Rajwaha every day, yet there is no electricity Railing, vehicles are falling into Rajwaha every day on Bamba Bypass Road. This situation persists due to lack of railing on the banks of Rajwaha. It is a Public Works Department road. Road safety arrangements are missing. The traffic police registers are full of accidents occurring on this road. Even the street lights don't light. Both darkness and fog are becoming the cause of accidents. Even after this the district administration is not opening its eyes.

Barricading will be done in the part of the broken wall on the banks of Abunale. The construction branch team will be sent. Other places will also be visited. -Zakir Hussain, CEO Cantt Board.

Junior engineers have been instructed to mark such places in the municipal corporation area. If the wall and drain is unpaved, then soil will be filled there. -Pramod Kumar Singh, Chief Engineer, Municipal Corporation.
