Three Iranian satellites launched from Russia (file photo)
Digital Desk, New Delhi. Three Iranian satellites were sent into space on Sunday by Russia's Soyuz rocket. Space cooperation between these two countries, banned by America, is getting stronger. These satellites are Paya, Zafar 2 and the second one is Kausar.
In recent years, Iran has become increasingly dependent on Russia to put satellites into orbit. The latest three satellites are aimed at helping monitor agriculture, natural resources and the environment.
Iran's Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said that despite all the sanctions and threats, these satellites have been designed and built by Iranian scientists. He also mentioned the steps taken by Western countries on Tehran's nuclear program.
“We are working together (with Russia) in various areas,” he said. Some areas are clear and some we do not want to clarify.'' (With inputs from news agency Reuters)
