Jagran correspondent, Dhanbad. The first day of the year started with dense fog. There was fog throughout the day due to which the weather remained cold. The cold winds blowing from time to time increased the noise. The night remained cold due to icy winds. There will be no respite from the extreme cold even this fortnight.
The forecast for the next fortnight issued by the Meteorological Department has predicted a rapid decline in the minimum temperature. During January 2 to 8, the minimum temperature is expected to be four to 11 degrees and between January 9 to 15, it is expected to be three to nine degrees. That means January can be colder than December.
The minimum temperature is expected to remain below normal throughout the month. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is changing due to the activation of several systems simultaneously. Western Disturbance is active in the form of a cyclonic circle in the upper air. Jet stream winds are blowing in North India. A cyclonic circle has formed over the Bay of Bengal. The weather will continue to fluctuate due to these systems.
